MY JOURNEY WITH ESSENTIAL OILS...
Alternative health has been an important part of my family's wellness. I grew up using supplements, herbs, salves, oils, even good old fashioned mud to heal our bodies. Massage therapy, Chiropractic Care, Cell Regeneration Therapy (energy healing), Quality Essential Oils, and Holistic Health Care have been excellent compliments to traditional western medicine in my adulthood. Alternative health has always just been part of my world and I have always been quite healthy so it never even occurred to me that I would be vulnerable to serious illness.
In the spring of 2016, I went to the doctor for a persistent sore throat. It was probably allergies, but I just wanted to be sure that I was fine. My doctor assured me that I was completely healthy, but was due for a Tdap vaccine. I agreed to have the vaccine and went on my way. My throat was better after a day or two of allergy medicine, but over the next couple of weeks, I became weak and began experiencing difficulty breathing and trouble urinating. After a week of being told that I had a severe flu, a urinary tract infection, and a respiratory infection, I went to the emergency room. Twice. The first time I was discharged with a "clean" MRI and some pain meds. By my next ER visit (the next day), I was unable to feel my legs, control my bladder, and I was in an excruciating amount of pain. I was hospitalized with Transverse Myelitis and immediately treated with high dose of steroids.
