THE HIPSQUEAKS AND THE CO...
I'm Becks, the creative behind H+C, wrangler of hipsqueaks, and general manager of all things home and family here. I'm sort of a jack of all trades with an educational background in creative writing and holistic health, nearly 20 years experience developing and managing peer-led support and education programs for people living with mental health conditions, 8 years as the owner of a small graphic design company that supported indie artists, 4 years creating rad tees and totes for the littles, a dozen or so years creating super fun chem-free bath and body products using food grade ingredients and essential oils to keep my own hipsqueaks clean, happy, and healthy, and a lifetime of hardcore crafting.
Leslie, wife, baby feeder, and wild hair tamer, is the supportive force behind the scenes. She's the die hard craft fair roadie, the glitter bomb squad, and expert picker upper after the trail of craft supplies that seems to follow me like Pig Pen's dust cloud. She's our glue.
Together we have 3 kiddos. Once grown up, one pre-teen, and one toddler. She had one, I had one, and together we found one. We are a wild and weird alternative family that is so beautifully blended together and delightfully mixed up that we probably couldn't tell you where everyone came from or how they came to be family. We are bigger than our biology. We're excited to welcome you into the family!
We believe that this earth is magical and worth protecting, that laughter should be the noise heard most in any home, that art should be accessible to all people regardless of the amount of coin in their pocket, that the front door should always be open to anyone in need of sanctuary, that wellness is a right and access to alternative health information should easy. We REALLY REALLY believe in health at every size and that all bodies are beautiful and incredible machines that are so worthy of love, respect, appreciation, and should be worshipped!
